Costa Rica is my home country and what I’m about to say i’s not because I’m from here but it has sooo many incredible things to see and do!

No matter what time of the year you visit Costa Rica I’m sure you are gonna love it but the best time is definitely summer (December thru April). I was out of the country for some months but I’m so excited to be back for the holidays and the perfect summer!

As I just mentioned there’re a lot of things to see and do in Costa Rica but right now I’m gonna share with you a few things you must do at least once if you visit:

  • Explore Santa Teresa

Santa Teresa is on the west coast of the Nicoya Peninsula in Puntarenas.

Since the very first time I visited years ago Santa Teresa became one of my favorite places in Costa Rica.

Santa Teresa has a beautiful beach and you can enjoy others close by like Montezuma, Mal Pais, Playa Hermosa, Manzanillo and a few more that you need to see and take a dip in once you get there.

With great surf, a great vibe, great food, great people… you can only have a great time in this amazing beach town!

Santa Teresa also has some of the most amazing sunsets you’ll see in Costa Rica, when you go be prepared because you won’t want to leave!

  • Discover Catarata Toro Amarillo

Costa Rica is known for having so many incredible waterfalls (cataratas in spanish) and Toro Amarillo is no exception.

I love chasing waterfalls and I’ve seen a few in Costa Rica by now but this year I went to Catarata Toro Amarillo for the first time and it’s such a stunning place that I had to add it to this list.

When you start walking to the waterfall and start seeing it from the top you just can’t wait to get there and admire it and feel it closer.

Catarata Toro Amarillo is located in Alajuela in Bajos del Toro area not too far from the city. The entrance is $10 and totally worth it for a day tour. You can also find other waterfalls close by once you are there.

  • Ocaso Music Festival

If you have been following my adventures here or on my Instagram travel_with_jennats you probably noticed that I loveee music, festivals and I love techno.

Ocaso is a 5 days annual underground techno and house music festival that takes place in Tamarindo, Guanacaste every January. It started on 2017 and let me tell you it just keeps getting better and better!

I’ve been to Ocaso Festival every year and I can not wait for its 4th edition on January 9th, 2020 and share this beautiful experience with my friends and with people from all over the world, dancing in the beach and in the jungle to the best energy!

See you in paradise to dance the night away 😀

  • Get adventurous in Monteverde

Monteverde is located in the Cordillera de Tiralán, Puntarenas and is a top tourist destination not only because of its biodiversity but also for all the cool things you can get to experience here.
